Unpacking and Assembly

The scope came in three boxes.  I cleared a space in my
living room to begin unpackaging and basic installation.

The first box contained the precious mirror cell as well as the accessories.

The second box contained the base/rocker box and the altitude bearings.

And finally, the third box contained the tube.

I had previously constructed a mockup of the tube to measure
portability in my Japanese coupe.  You can read the results of my
efforts, if you like.  As you can see here, the mockup width was good,
but it was a little too tall.

A close-up of the 2 inch JMI crayford focuser already installed on the tube.

Mirror installation, before and after.

Left altitude bearing installed.

Right altitude bearing installation.

Almost there!

A couple pictures inside the tube.

Finally, I installed the 7x50 finder scope.
