This is a flexible pure social strategy, and can be employed by several people on different levels simultaneously. Hosting a game, or bringing or paying for food, or laughing at other people's jokes - these are all forms of the Nice Guy. All other things being equal, it is more socially acceptable to threaten the guy who didn't bring the chips and cokes than the guy who did. |
