When employed socially, the Instigator looks for opportunities to react to comments made between two people, or to bring up history between people, and so forth. In a very common benign usage, the Instigator will point out how threatening one player's game actions are to another's position. Those who are instigated to act against one another spend resources and attention which might otherwise be deployed against the Instigator. |
