The Chainsaw Diplomat |
| Definition |
As described by Paul D. Windsor, the objective of Chainsaw Diplomacy is to "leave the recipient 100% certain that the letter writer is going to do exactly as he says [...] to deliver a message which cannot be ignored, even by the most suspicious, and usually with all of the subtlety of a black rose valentine." |
| Desired Result |
In this way, the player limits the choices of his opponent at a critical time. |
| Commentary |
This strategy is most useful when other options have exhausted themselves, and you absolutely must be heard and believed about certain things at a carefully chosen time. It may be useful as a long-term or frequently-used strategy, but doing so would prove difficult without extreme care. If the player's bluff is called, the player should consider following through despite the consequences. Otherwise, his reputation will suffer irreparable damage. |
