A Measure of Sand

Suntaxis (The Troupe)

Our Saga's Storyguide is Ken Kofman.

We have five additional players: Steve Huntsberry, Jason Newquist, Merwin Shanmugasundaram, Scott Tooker, and Chris Womack.

Communication occurs across a group mailing list.

Our current meeting schedule: weekly on Thursday evenings, 6:30-11:30 PM PDT.   Default locale is at Ken's; this is subject to change should another player volunteer to host.

Topos (The Setting)

The saga, set in the Thebes Tribunal, is centered upon a group of magi in the process of forming a spring covenant in the glory of the Byzantine Empire. We have selected 1118 as our starting date. A new emperor, John II Komnenos, has ascended to the throne, and a special Tribunal has been called in Byzantium.

Grammata (The Rules)

These are the House Rules adopted by the troupe. Rulebooks and supplements approved for use (in whole or in part; see the house rules for specifics) include:

Ars Magica (3rd Ed.)
Ars Magica (4th Ed.)
Order of Hermes
Houses of Hermes

Ken has also provided further elucidation on Enchantments and Experimentation in the Lab.

Ars Magica, Mythic Europe, and Covenants are trademarks of Trident Inc. Order of Hermes, Doissetep, Grimgroth, and Tremere, are trademarks of White Wolf, Inc. The use of these trademarks here is without permission, and does not constitute a challenge to the ownership of those properties. (While some of these trademarks may not currently appear on this website, they're fairly common ArM terminology, so they might in the future. If and when they do, it won't constitute a challenge to the ownership of those properties then, either.) The webmasseur offers his thanks to Jeff Tidball of Atlas Games for glancing over this site and giving it his personal thumbs-up. Them folks at Atlas is just plain swell.
